AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. In the months following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley and playing with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. The team made her debut in professional football and played in the team's win of the league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years older, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the game-winning goal the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She was second in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012. This made her the sixth and youngest player in the country to score 20 goals in one year. Morgan was later named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was named to both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she took home the Silver Boot.
