Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized by her highly commendable performances in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The film Piano was awarded an Oscar. At a young age she began playing on stage for several Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. Passionate about acting since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in the one ear. However, she did not allow this to stop her from becoming an actress. At college, she was a theatre student and later moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. As she relocated from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land films to play. An supporting role was secured for her in Swing Shift. For the past 30 years Holly Hunter has been on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
