Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress as well as producer and director. Her work has been recognized for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes and awards, among them an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Her career began as an actor on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. It has always been her passion. In the fifth grade she played Helen Keller in an original production. In the fifth grade, following a bout of mumps, she lost hearing in her left ear. She did not allow that to stop her. When she was a teenager She studied acting before moving to New York City. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut after an accidental encounter with Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. After moving into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land film roles. A supporting role was found for her in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared featured in a variety of television movies and series. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
